Senior Pastor

Dr. Jack R. Hodges, Jr. was called to be the Senior Pastor on April 30, 2017. Jack has served in the ministry for 38 years. Before coming to Pleasant Hill, he previously served for 18 years at Mountain Grove Baptist Church in Granite Falls, NC as Minister of Pastoral Counseling and Restoration and previously as Singles Minister. Prior to that, Jack and his wife, Shawn, served as missionaries with the International Mission Board for nearly 15 years in the Gaza Strip and in Nazareth, Israel, where they served as Church Developers and had the pleasure of planting a church in Nazareth, Israel. Dr. Hodges earned his Doctorate of Ministry degree from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, his Master of Divinity degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, and his Bachelor of Science in Education from Appalachian State University. Jack and Shawn have been married for 42 years and have three married children, Daniel, Joshua, and Lydia and eleven grandchildren. Jack loves App State football and enjoys music, skiing, scuba diving, and traveling.

Youth and Children’s Pastor

Rev. Jonathan Puckett has been at Pleasant Hill since 2015 as the Youth and Children's Pastor. Pastor Jonathan and his wife, Sara, have two children; Jackson, who is 6, Georgia Mae, who is 4, and a new baby girl on the way. Before being called into the ministry, Jonathan worked in construction for six years for the City of Hickory. Jonathan loves sports. Duke Basketball and Atlanta Braves are his two favorite teams. He also enjoys snowboarding, hunting, and swimming.

Mr. Steve Denton serves as Choir Director and leads the praise portion of our Sunday service.

Administrative Assistant

Mrs. Amy Dixon serves as part-time Administrative Assistant. Her husband, Brandon, is currently serving as Chairman of our deacons, and they have two daughters, Cameron and Casey. Amy enjoys time with her family and cheering on their favorite teams (NC State/Appalachian/UNC football & basketball). She also loves reading, hiking & spending time in God’s creation. Psalm 8:3-5 is among her favorite verses.
